Dr Anthony Podberscek is the Editor-in-Chief of the peer-reviewed academic journal, Anthrozoös: A multidisciplinary journal of the interactions between people and other animals. I have known and worked with Anthony since 2017, which is when I started working on the publication as Routledge’s Portfolio Manager for Anthropology. Anthony is responsible for proofreading and copyediting all submissions that have been recommended for publication by the review team, including full-length research articles, book reviews, and news and analysis pieces. Many of these items are submitted by authors for whom English is a second language, which require extensive proofreading and copyediting.
The standard of English in all of Anthrozoös’ published articles is excellent.
I worked with Anthony Podberscek on the publication of the journal Anthrozoös from 2007 until 2014. Anthony was Editor of the journal but also carried out the copy‐editing, proofreading and project management of the production work.
Anthony was a competent and thorough copy‐editor and proofreader, addressing any language or editorial issues and adhering closely to the journal style. This editing and proofreading work was always done to a high standard.

Anthony and I worked together on Anthrozoös, the academic journal for the International Society for Anthrozoology for over twenty years. He was the editor-in-chief and I was in charge of formatting and production. I had worked with other editors on that project before Anthony and must say that none compared. Every issue came to me in the most organized and clear manner. His editing was exceptional—there were few rounds of corrections needed. He was also a stellar proofreader, finding every minute error in formatting so our final product was as close to perfection as possible. I cannot recommend him enough and miss working with him terribly.
